$30K marked for energy education

BUTLER TWP — XTO Energy has donated $30,000 to the Butler County Community College's Education Foundation for energy training initiatives.

XTO Energy previously partnered with BC3 in 2013 to develop an energy education program. BC3 has a 24-credit energy technology workplace certificate to teach students about the technical and human resource needs of the energy sector.

With this new grant, the college can look into development larger simulations and integrate energy education with the public safety training offered at BC3.

BC3 President Nick Neupauer said this will help provide quality energy education to students.

“We believe that there continue to be opportunities in the regional energy sector for students and the current work force,” he said.

“Our goal is to assure that BC3 energy programs provide the quality and flexibility to meet the changing work environment.

“We are grateful for XTO Energy's continuing support and investment.”
