5:47 a.m. Sunday - Mary Ann Shaner, 28, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her car traveled into a ditch and became stuck along Route 528 near West Liberty Road in Brady Township. In addition to DUI, she faces charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.Sunday - About $250 in food items were taken between 10 p.m. Friday and 12:30 p.m. Sunday from the Slippery Rock High School concession stand in Slippery Rock Township. The unknown burglar broke in after forcing open the locked door.9:56 p.m. Saturday - Robin Jones, no age given, of Westmoreland City, Westmoreland County, swerved her sport utility vehicle to avoid a deer on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township, causing the SUV to roll onto its side. Jones, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.3:36 a.m. Saturday - Matthew Vangorder, 22, of Linesville, Crawford County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at routes 173 and 108 in Slippery Rock.12:45 a.m. Saturday - An unidentified vehicle struck a car and pickup truck, both owned by Michael Dudich of Hilliards, parked along Old Brick Road in Washington Township and did not stop after the crash.Saturday - A 1989 Chevrolet Caprice was reportedly stolen between 10 p.m. Friday and 7:30 p.m. Saturday from North Ninth Street in Butler. David Matson, no address given, said he parked the car, owned by Rachelle Brown of Butler, on the street and left the keys in the vehicle. When he returned to the parking spot, the car was gone.9 p.m. Friday - Leland Kosinski, 41, of Karns City was charged with simple assault and harassment after an altercation with Robin Perry, 40, of Karns City on Burrey Avenue in Forward Township.2:58 p.m. Friday - A car driven by Donaldine Stewart, no age given, of Butler and a pickup truck driven of Jereme Bean. No age given, of West Sunbury collided on Route 308 near Barron Lane in Center Township. Stewart, who was wearing a seat belt, was treated for moderate injuries at Butler Memorial Hospital. She was cited for a left-turn violation.Friday - Someone Thursday or Friday smashed the driver's window of a car parked at the baseball field on Seven Hills Road in Oakland Township and took about $30 in sockets. Abel Kirch of Chicora owns the tools.1:35 p.m. Oct. 8 - Colleen Brown, 44, of Butler swerved her car to avoid a deer on Holyoke Road in Center Township, causing the vehicle to travel down an embankment and onto its roof. Brown, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.Oct. 8 - A suspect, only identified by police as a female, took nearly two dozen articles of women's clothing from the Bon Ton store at the Clearview Mall in Center Township and later tried to return the items, valued at $642, for cash or credit at several service counters.
2:20 p.m. Friday - Nancy Ann Hinchberger, 38, who police listed with addresses in both Butler and Pittsburgh, was taken into custody for an active warrant from Kittanning State Police. Hinchberger also was found in possession of seven bags of suspected crack cocaine, a digital scale and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on Route 28 northbound at the Creighton exit in East Deer Township, Allegheny County.She was arraigned on the warrant and placed in the Armstrong County Jail in lieu of $40,000 cash bond.
