Sarvey 70th anniversary
Marlin and Myrtle Sarvey of Prospect will celebrate 70 years of marriage with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the social hall of Prospect Presbyterian Church, 115 Church St., Prospect. A family dinner will follow.
Sarvey married the former Myrtle Wolfe on Sept. 24, 1940, at St. Marks's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Butler.
They have five children, Marlin Sarvey of Prospect, Shirley Bilowich of Butler, Margaret Goehring of Evans City, Ruth Fisher of West Liberty and Tammy Stewart of West Sunbury.
They also have 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Sarvey is retired. He is the former owner of M.D. Sarvey Plumbing and Heating. He is a member of Victory Lodge 694, Royal Arc 273, Butler Council 61, Lorraine Commandery 87, Shrine Tall Cedars.
Mrs. Sarvey is a homemaker. She is the former secretary and bookkeeper of M.D. Sarvey Plumbing and Heating. She belongs to the White Shrine, the Maqueda chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Prospect Senior Citizen Club and a card club.
The Sarveys are members of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
