Samantha L. Smith, 19, of Second Street, Leechburg, died at 8:01 a.m. Tuesday in Natrona Heights.

Born June 16, 1992, in Butler, she was a daughter of Wayne E. Smith and Janeen A. (Allen) Smith.

Samantha was a 2010 graduate of Leechburg High School, where she played on the high school basketball and volleyball teams. Following graduation, she attended Indiana (Pa.) University.

Since March, she was a shift manager at Dunkin Donuts in Tarentum.

Samantha enjoyed horseback riding and listening to music. She loved animals, going to the Outer Banks in North Carolina and especially being with her family and friends.

Samantha is survived by her father, Wayne E. Smith of Tarentum; her mother, Janeen A. (Allen) Smith (Adam Troutman) of Leechburg; one sister, Jessi N. Smith of Leechburg; her maternal grandparents, Wallace R. and Norma J. (Valensky) Allen of Butler; and her paternal grandmother, Ahlene M. (Morris) Smith of Tarentum. Also surviving are her uncles and aunts, Wallace R. Allen (Brenda) of Butler, Kenneth E. Allen of Butler, Todd D. Allen of Butler, Melissa Chase (Tim) of Erie, Diana M. Smith of Tarentum, Shawn D. Smith (Kim) of Rural Valley, Don Garrett (Andrea) of Tarentum, John Joslin (Paula) of Schenectady, N.Y., and Vickie L. Armstrong (Cliff) of Saxonburg; her best friend, Courtney Rae Craig of Tarentum; and her many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Edgar A. Smith in 2005.

<B>SMITH</B> — Friends of Samantha L. Smith, who died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, will be welcomed by her family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in <B>CLAWSON’S Funeral Home</B>, 170 Main St., Leechburg. Visitation also will be Saturday from 10 until the time of her funeral ceremonies at 11 a.m. in the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Freeport and Morgan Streets, Brackenridge. Pastor Kamila Blessing will officiate.
