Butler Twp. PoliceTuesday — Billie Jo Wickline, 40, of Butler was charged with retail theft after she allegedly did not scan items worth $145 at the self checkout line in Walmart.9:54 p.m. Dec. 15 — Nicholas Fietl, 28, of Butler was charged with DUI and retail theft after he allegedly stole $183 worth of merchandise from Walmart and drove away. Police stopped Fietl’s vehicle a short time after he allegedly fled the store and found him to be intoxicated.
State Police, ButlerDec. 7 — Police are investigating a suspected burglary at the Forward Township municipal building, 207 Ash Stop Road.The suspected burglary occurred between Dec. 4 and Dec. 7. No suspects or items taken were listed on the police report. The investigation is ongoing.
State Police, New Castle5:03 p.m. Wednesday — A tractor-trailer rolled on its side along Route 422 in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County, after being struck by an oncoming pickup truck.Police said a westbound pickup truck driven by James D. Dierlach Jr., 20, of New Castle veered into the eastbound lane, forcing the driver of the oncoming rig, Hayder H. Al-Robay, 28, of Chicago, to swerve in an attempt to avoid a collision.However, Dierlach’s Ford F-250 struck the rig, forcing it to roll onto its side across the entire length of the road.Dierlach told emergency responders he was not injured, but he was taken to Jamison Memorial Hospital for evaluation. Al-Robay was not hurt.Both vehicles were towed. Traffic on Route 422 was detoured while the route was closed.
State Police, Mercer10:49 a.m. Dec. 10 — John H. McMillen, 57, of Woodruff, S.C., is facing drug possession charges after a traffic stop along Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township, Mercer County.
State Police, Kittanning11 a.m. Tuesday — Chrystal S. Best, 35, of Rimersburg was charged with theft and receiving stolen property after she allegedly stole $117 worth of medical supplies from ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township, Armstrong County while she was being discharged.
