PHILADELPHIA — The estranged son-in-law of Sen. Vincent Fumo is in the midst of his testimony at the Philadelphia Democrat's corruption trial.

In brief testimony Thursday, 33-year-old Christian Marrone told jurors how he spent much of his time as an aide in Fumo's South Philadelphia district office overseeing renovations at Fumo's historic mansion.

Marrone said he oversaw more than a dozen contractors and often stopped at the house several times a day in his first 18 months in his Senate job in about 1997-98.

Fumo's daughter, Nicole, listened to her husband's testimony, but did not speak with her father with whom she has been estranged for several years.
