Donald H. Michael
Donald H. Michael, 64, of Renfrew died Tuesday while under the care of UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born March 6, 1947, in Butler, he was the son of Dorothy C. (Kaltenbach) Michael and the late William H. Michael Jr.
Donald proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the Christ Community United Methodist Church, past commander of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 73 of Butler, past president of the C.B. Rangers in Butler, past lieutenant of the Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the American Legion Post 778 in Lyndora, a special deputy sheriff for Butler County and was a member of the Butler Farm Show.
In addition, he was formerly employed by Johns Manville of Zelienople and was the owner and operator of the Backhaus Nursery in Renfrew.
He is survived by his adoring wife, Carol (Orr) Michael of Renfrew; loving daughter, Lori Heck and her husband, John, of Renfrew; two precious grandchildren, Jonathan and Elizabeth Heck; one brother of Arizona; one niece; and one nephew.
