CLEVELAND — Zach Jackson, a graduate of Seneca Valley, was recalled by the Cleveland Indians Wednesday, then pitched four innings in the Tribe's 12-7 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.
Jackson surrendered five first-inning runs, but left the game with an 8-7 lead through four innings. He allowed six earned runs on eight hits and had four strikeouts and four walks.
GIBSONIA — St. Jude Golf Club member Sean Knapp finished second Tuesday in the 24th WPGA Mid-Amateur Golf Championship at Pittsburgh National Golf Club.Knapp shot a 4-over-par 148, two strokes behind Rob Cimarolli of Pittsburgh.Fellow St. Jude member Nathan Smith finished ninth and Butler's Rob Voltz tied for 16th.
