Daugherty 103rd birthday
Anna Daugherty of Butler celebrated her 103rd birthday with a party at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with family and friends.
The former Anna Christie was born Oct. 27, 1906.
She married Anthony Daugherty on Feb. 5, 1929. He is deceased.
The oldest of nine children, she is the last surviving sibling.
Mrs. Daugherty has 10 children, Dorothy Snyder of Parker, Marian Strong of Royerford, Pa., Anna Sweeney of Butler, Edward Daugherty of Plattsburgh, N.Y., Betty McClimans of Chatham, Va., Donna Weiland of Oak Forest, Ill., Doris Stephenson of Butler, James Daugherty of Ishpeming, Mich., Margaret Brainard of Warren, Ala., and Mary Jane Furey of Fenelton. Another child, Anthony Daugherty Jr., is deceased.
She also has 33 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Daugherty is a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
