Massart

Emile H. Massart, 91, of Tender Loving Care Plus Personal Care Home, formerly of Butler, died Friday at the care home.

Born March 8, 1916, in Butler, he was the son of J. Ferdinand and Catherine Bopp Massart.

Mr. Massart had been an assembler for Pullman Standard for 30 years and retired in 1977.

He was a member of Joseph T. Black VFW Post 249, the United Commercial Travelers, the French & Belgium Club and the M.O.R.A. Club.

He was an avid bingo player and enjoyed fishing and sports.

He was a World War II Army veteran and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

His wife, Jane Parker Massart, whom he married Sept. 4, 1942, died Aug. 6, 1999.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Emily Jane) Nulph of Hagerstown, Md., and Judith K. Geibel of Jefferson, Va.; 10 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Two sisters, Mrs. Wilbert (Anna) Baptiste of Butler and Mrs. Frederick (Lorraine) Minehart of North Butler; and a brother, Leonard J. Massart of San Antonio, Texas, also survive.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, two brothers, a stepdaughter and a stepson.

<B>MASSART </B>— Friends of Emile H. Massart, who died Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
