SRU business programs earned national honors

The business programs at Slippery Rock University earned a national endorsement from the Colleges of Distinction (COD), the school announced on June 17.

According to the COD — an online guide for college-bound students that honors colleges throughout the country — the endorsement for business is intended to advocate for schools “whose undergraduate experiences are grounded in a philosophy of well-rounded, individualized engagement.”

Many schools were evaluated based upon certain criteria and benefits which includes stability, collaborative learning and business ethics among others.

“This national recognition reinforces our reputation for having a student-centric focus and innovative approach to business education,” said Lawrence Shao, dean of the College of Business at SRU.

“We are fortunate to have such outstanding faculty, staff, students and administrative support that help us meet the highest standards for our programs.”

The College of Business at SRU consists of eight academic departments, 80 faculty members and about 2,000 students across 16 degree programs.
