A Butler man who pleaded guilty in a 2016 shooting incident in Evans City is back in Butler County Prison.

This time Jahote C. Dorsey Jr., 23, is charged with felony trespass.

Butler police on Thursday arrested Dorsey in connection with a weekend incident at his former girlfriend's house on South Street.

The woman told police that she returned home about 11 a.m. Sunday to find Dorsey inside her house, according to court documents.

The 31-year-old woman has a protection from abuse order against Dorsey that bars him from having any contact with her.

She suspected Dorsey got into her home by sneaking in through the basement door, police said. She told him to leave several times but he refused.

He eventually fled before police got there.

Police later contacted Dorsey by telephone, advised him of the forthcoming charge and to turn himself in. He refused.

Dorsey was subsequently arrested and arraigned Thursday and placed in the county jail on $50,000 bail.

He is already awaiting trial on unrelated felony trespass and other charges last month in Butler.

City police in that case arrested him Jan. 22 after he allegedly broke into an apartment on the 600 block of New Castle Street and assaulted the tenant.

He was initially jailed on $15,000 bail but released Jan. 29 when given a recognizance bond after waiving his charges to court.

Prison records also showed that he was jailed for one day in December, for a PFA violation, and one day in August on a domestic relations warrant.

Dorsey was arrested and jailed in connection with a shooting incident Jan. 5, 2016, in Evans City. He ultimately pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of simple assault.

He was released in February 2017 after serving his sentence.
