Bessie Byers

Bessie Byers of Petrolia will celebrate her 90th birthday with a family dinner and a card shower.

The former Bessie Maxwell was born Dec. 10, 1920, in Emlenton.

She married Merle Byers on June 12, 1940, at St. John’s Reformed Church in Chicora.

She has four children, Earla Crawford of Saxonburg, Kay Merlene Uenking of Chicora, Richard Byers of McKinney, Texas, and Daryle Byers of Karns City.

She also has 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one stepgrandchild.

Mrs. Byers was employed at the Bruin Elementary School cafeteria.
