Butler Police9:30 p.m. Tuesday — Lynly A. Broge, 53, of Butler was arrested after a suspected drunken driving crash on Third Avenue.Broge’s car struck another vehicle that was parked at a home where a couple inside, including the owner of the other vehicle, heard the crash. After the couple came outside, Broge asked them not to call police.Then Broge drove away without providing the victims information. But one of the victims was able to give officers a partial license plate number of the suspect’s car.Police tracked down Broge, who was at her home. She smelled of alcohol and appeared intoxicated. She refused to do field sobriety tests and was taken to the station, where she refused to take a breath test.Later, police said, she also refused to take a blood test at Butler Memorial Hospital.Broge is charged with driving under the influence and hit-and-run. She was arraigned on the charges and released on her own recognizance,June 27 — Derek A. Brown, 43, of Butler was charged with drugged driving in connection with a two-vehicle crash last month at North Monroe and East Walnut streets.Police said Brown caused the head-on crash about 4 p.m. May 28 when his car collided with a sport utility vehicle driven by Timothy Moreino, 63, of Butler.Brown was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test following the wreck. Toxicology results showed he had the prescription drug zolpidem, a sedative primarily used for the treatment of insomnia, in his system.In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, Brown is charged with careless driving.June 27 — Police charged Robert A. Fraser, 49, of Butler with being more than 3½ times the legal limit for alcohol following a traffic stop about 11:20 a.m. May 24 on South Monroe Street.Police said Fraser, who smelled of alcohol, was unable to perform field sobriety tests due to his condition. He was later given a breath test, which showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.291 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.Fraser is charged with DUI.
Butler Twp Police4:52 p.m. Wednesday — Kara Savage, 22, of Portersville was hurt when the car she was driving rear-ended another vehicle on Route 422 at Greenwood Drive. She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital after complaining of head, neck and back pain.Police said Savage was cited for driving at an unsafe speed. Diane McCormick, 55, of Prospect was the other driver.1:58 p.m. Wednesday — Jamie D. Delaney, 38, of Butler was caught allegedly under ringing merchandise at the self-checkout lane at the Butler Commons’ Walmart. Police said she used a price code tag in the scheme to pay only $26.83 for the items valued at $139.44.Delaney is charged with misdemeanor retail theft.5:12 p.m. Sunday — Michael D. Lex, 30, of Butler allegedly pointed a handgun at another motorist during a case of suspected road rage on the Pickelgate Bridge. No one was injured.Lex is charged with terroristic threats, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.
State Police, ButlerThursday — A stereo was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked at Bernie’s Trailer Park on Winfield Road in Winfield Township. The stereo, valued at $100, was taken between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 5:30 a.m. Thursday.12:30 a.m. Wednesday — Brittany L. Raybuck, 29, was arrested after she allegedly assaulted 29-year-old Dennis L. Freehling during a domestic dispute at their home on Walnut Street in Clay Township.Police said Raybuck punched Freehling twice in the head and slapped his face. The victim suffered a minor injury.Raybuck was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and released on her own recognizance.
State Police, FranklinTuesday — A vandal damaged a 2015 Ford Mustang after rolling a car tire down an embankment on Park Street in Clintonville. The tire hit the Ford, causing minor damage. The vandalism happened between 11 p.m. Monday and 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 814-676-6596.
State Police, KittanningWednesday — Police reported they are investigating a burglary last month at a home in North Buffalo Township. A .22-caliber rifle and a check were stolen from the man’s home on Peaceful Valley Road.The break-in happened between 1 p.m. June 10 and 3 a.m. June 11. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.7:30 p.m. Tuesday — Jason R. Kelsey, 32, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a 29-year-old woman during an apparent domestic dispute at his home on Cherry Street in Worthington. Kelsey was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $5,000 bail.
State Police, New CastleToday — A PennDOT stop sign and four arrow signs were stolen from a construction site on Frew Mill Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. A police report did not indicate if there are any suspects.Anyone with information about the theft that happened between 12:35 and 7 a.m. is asked to call police at 724-598-2211.Today — An unknown vandal damaged a mailbox on Rose Point Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The vandalism happened between 12:01 and 7 a.m. Anyone with information is asked to call police.1:10 a.m. June 11 — Steven Appleton, no age given, of New Castle was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 422 at Copper Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.
