9:40 a.m. Sunday - Robert Schmitt, 37, of Butler was charged with carrying two suspected crack pipes following a traffic stop on Chestnut Street. He was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.Police said Schmitt, who was wanted by the county's adult probation office, was placed in the Butler County Prison.

4:20 p.m. Sunday - A van driven by a 17-year-old Butler girl, whom police did not identify, and a car driven by Marty Harper, 23, of Butler collided at Bonniebrook and Summit roads in Summit Township.Harper and Stack McConahy, 19, of Butler, a passenger in the van, suffered minor injuries. Both were wearing seat belts.8:25 p.m. Saturday - Gary Steighner, 51, of Rimersburg, Armstrong County was hospitalized after being accidentally shot with a handgun by his son-on-law at a Timber Lane home in Allegheny Township.Police said Steighner and his son-in-law, whom they did not identify, were looking at a .45-caliber pistol when Steighner was shot. He suffered a gunshot wound to the right arm and leg. Steighner was flown by medical helicopter to Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, where he's listed in stable condition.Saturday - Jewelry and compact discs valued at more than $7,700 were taken between noon and 9:30 p.m. in a burglary at a Hallston Road home in Clay Township.6:45 a.m. Friday - Shaun S. Adams, 21, of Fenelton was arrested following an altercation with two constables at an Old Route 422 home in Clearfield Township.Constables Rachel Patton and David Young were attempting to arrest Adams, who was wanted on two warrants, when police said Adams attempted to assault Patton, 29, with his vehicle. No other information was available this morning.Adams is charged with simple assault, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal mischief and undisclosed traffic violations.Wednesday - Two men were cited following a fight about 11 p.m. Saturday during a fund-raising event at the Prospect Fire Hall on Main Street. The event was held to benefit family members who had lost their home in a fire.Jason Allen, 28, of Prospect and Jason Cooper, 25, of Wampum, Lawrence County are charged with disorderly conduct. Allen, who damaged a bathroom door at the fire hall, is also charged with criminal mischief.1:52 a.m. March 3 - A car driven by Bradley Kunz, 23, of Springdale, Allegheny County skidded off snow-covered Route 228 in Clinton Township and struck a utility pole. Kunz was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

10:40 p.m. Wednesday - Kenneth Renninger, 25, of Callensburg was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his car struck a parked car at Doc's Tavern parking lot in Toby Township, Clarion County, and did not stop following the crash. Joni Rimer of Rimersburg owns the car struck in the crash.

Saturday - Someone between 10:30 p.m. Friday and 5:30 a.m. Sunday tried unsuccessfully to steal a car on Emlenton Street in Clintonville, Venango County. The car's steering column was damaged in the attempted theft.11:40 a.m. March 3 - The engine compartment of a tractor-trailer driven by Rolland McKinnis Jr., 41, of Portland, Ore., caught fire on Route 8 at Interstate 80 in Barkeyville, Venango County. McKinnis was able to put out the fire and was not injured.
