Despite a game-high 17 points from Karly Rhoads and 12 from Adele Campbell, the Slippery Rock girls basketball team dropped a 60-55 double-overtime game to Franklin in the District 10 Class AAA consolation final at Farrell Saturday.

The win sends Franklin (20-5) to the PIAA playoffs as the third qualifier out of the district.

Franklin, which had three players in double figures and five with eight points or more, outscored the Rockets (17-8) by a 10-5 margin in the second overtime to pull out the win.

Knoch 3, Westmont Hilltop 2 — Neal Donnelly scored two goals, including an empty netter from the other side of the ice with 30 seconds left to give the Knights the win in this late contest Friday.Evan Gorse also scored for Knoch (12-8-1), which received assists from R.J. Hughes and Shane Donnelly.Knoch will move on to the PIHL playoffs, where it will travel to face Bishop McCort at 7:30 p.m. March 11 at the War Memorial in Johnstown.
