CRANBERRY TWP — A new AutoZone store will replace the building that once housed Dunkin’ Donuts on Route 19.

Final plans were presented to the township supervisors Tuesday evening for a new 7,381-square-foot building on the site.

Ron Henshaw, director of community development, said the two buildings there will be razed. Oil well drilling equipment that was on the property has been removed.

Dunkin’ Donuts moved to a new building at 20411 Route 19, and the two buildings have remained vacant since.

The board will vote on the final plans on Dec. 15.

Farmers bank hires Cranberry managerEM-LENTON — Renee Foust is the new branch manager of the The Farmers National Bank of Emlenton’s future Cranberry Township office.That branch is expected to open in mid-2012.Foust will be responsible for customer relations and business development. Foust has more than 25 years of sales and customer relations experience. Previously, she was a business banker for Fifth Third Bank in Pittsburgh.She has an associate degree in business from the Sawyer School of Business.She lives in Evans City with her children.

Highmark, UPMC hearing plannedPITTSBURGH — The state Senate Banking and Insurance Committee will hold its third hearing Wednesday on the dispute between UPMC and Highmark.The committee will meet at 11 a.m. in William Pitt Union Ballroom at the University of Pittsburgh, 4200 Fifth Ave.The primary witnesses will be Dr. Ken Melani, president and CEO of Highmark, and Jeffrey Romoff, president and CEO of UPMC.Sen. Don White, R-41st, who covers part of Butler County, is chairman of that committee.He said, “This hearing is intended to provide the committee with an update on the current status of the situation, discuss potential legislative solutions, explore the outcome of the expiration of the contract, and determine what must be accomplished to answer the questions UPMC has posed since our previous hearing.”
