3:03 p.m. July 19 — Matthew J. Carlson, no address given, was arrested after police found an alleged stamp bag of heroin in the glove box of his car.Carlson was pulled over by police at the corner of East Locust Street and First Street because the car he was driving had an off-road vehicle license plate.When police confronted Carlson, he admitted he found the plate on the road, and that the car was not registered and that he had no insurance.He also admitted he had a suspended driver's license due to a DUI.Upon a search of the car, police found a syringe and the heroin.Charges on Carlson include possession of a controlled substance and intention to use drug paraphernalia.

4:41 p.m. Wednesday — A 15-year-old girl was charged with possessing a weapon on school property.The girl was found to have a knife when she entered the Butler Intermediate High School.A juvenile allegation was filed with Juvenile Court Services.1:31 p.m. Wednesday — A crash occurred at the intersection of Whitestown Road and Eberhart Road.Marilyn Heasley, 73, of Butler was driving on Eberhart Road when she failed to see a red light at the intersection.Heasley drove through the intersection and struck a vehicle driven by Holly Schubert, 18, of Prospect.No charges were listed on the report.

2 p.m. Friday — David K. Hepler, 24, of Slippery Rock reported someone stole $350 worth of coins from his apartment on Boozel Road.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.

Sept. 1 — Jordan Negley, 33, of Freeport escaped injury after his vehicle crashed into a creek in South Buffalo Township. Negley told police he lost control of the vehicle as he reached to turn on the headlights.The vehicle went off Dock Hollow Road and traveled about 120 feet down an embankment.

3:15 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Edna E. Sheehan, 93, of Portersville was struck by an unidentified blue pickup truck on Route 488 just east of Perry Township, Lawrence County. The crash happened in Sheehan's driveway.Police described the unknown man driving the pickup as white and in his 50s. He has blonde hair. Riding in the truck was a white woman in her 50s with long, strawberry-blonde hair.Anyone with information about the hit-and-run accident is asked to call police at 724-598-2211.

7:50 a.m. Thursday — Justin L. Foust, 28, of Slippery Rock had minor injuries following an accident on Courtney Mill Road. Foust fell asleep while driving, causing his car to drift into a ditch and to roll it onto its roof.Foust was wearing a seat belt.

Thursday — A mountain bike was stolen from a home on Tidball Avenue sometime between Tuesday and Thursday. The value of the bike is $300.

The Butler County DUI Task Force made three DUI arrests during patrols on Aug. 30 and Aug. 31.Police stopped 59 vehicles during the two days. Thirty drivers were issued traffic violations, while 29 received warnings.Police also made one arrest for a firearms violation.
