Thursday — Randall E. Anderson, 61, of Butler was charged with drugged driving stemming from a one-vehicle crash last month on Hansen Avenue.Police said Anderson's Jeep shortly before 1 p.m. Feb. 23 struck and sheared off a utility pole at the 7-Eleven store. Officers spoke to the suspect who appeared to be impaired by drugs, according to court documents.Anderson was subsequently arrested and searched. Police said the search turned up nine stamp bags of suspected heroin.Police said that when checking the Jeep, authorities found a straw with white powder in it.While being placed in the patrol car, documents said, the defendant appeared to be suffering an overdose. Butler Ambulance Service paramedics began treating him in the ambulance. They eventually had to give the suspect a dose of Narcan to revive him.He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. At the hospital, documents said, Anderson admitted snorting two bags of heroin moments before crashing.Police on Wednesday received toxicology reports that confirmed the defendant was using heroin, documents said.Anderson is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.Monday — Patrick L. Duncan, 36, of Butler was charged with cashing a forged check in January at the Kmart store at Pullman Square.Police suspect he took that check and another one belonging to a city woman. He allegedly forged and tried to cash the other check for $300 but was denied because the victim had closed the bank account.Duncan is charged with forgery, a felony, and misdemeanor theft.<h3>Butler Twp Police</h3>10:50 p.m. Wednesday — Aaron T. Thompson, 25, of Butler was arrested after police were called to a Homewood Drive home for a reported trespasser. Thompson was arraigned on a felony count of criminal trespass and a misdemeanor count of defiant trespass.He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail following arraignment.8:07 a.m. Monday — A car driven by Kimberly Schmidt, 27, of Butler struck an oncoming vehicle on Old Plank Road near Litman Road. No one was hurt but both vehicles had to be towed. Patricia Rock, 78, of Butler was the other driver.6:54 p.m. March 1 — Police said Teresa M. Pierce, 55, of Butler caused a two-vehicle wreck when she drove through a red light on New Castle Road at the entrance to VA Butler Healthcare.Pierce was cited for the red light violation. Thomas Brothers, 42, of Butler was the other driver.<h3>Grove City Police</h3>3:19 p.m. Tuesday — Shylear W. Person, 20, was arrested after police were called to a reported disturbance at his home at Enclave Drive. He was arraigned on charges of possession of small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and underage drinkingPerson was placed in the Mercer County Jail on $15,000 bail following arraignment.<h3>State Police, Butler</h3>Thursday — Police reported they are investigating an apparent Internet scam that targeted a woman in Franklin Township in January, costing her a heavy price.The woman, according to a police report, was attempting to sell a timeshare property online when several different individuals contacted her. She was instructed to deposit a check and then wire transfer the individuals' money from the deposit.The check was later determined to be fraudulent.“The victim is out a substantial amount of money from her own account,” according to a police report.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.<h3>State Police, Clarion</h3>5:31 p.m. March 1 — A car driven by John M. Hetrick, 17, of Emlenton rear-ended another car on Route 58 in Richland Township, Clarion County. Logan J. Wolfe, 24, of Emlenton was the other driver.Neither driver was hurt but Logan's car had to be towed. Police cited Hetrick for following too closely to another vehicle.<h3>State Police, Kittanning</h3>12:26 p.m. Tuesday — A 19-year-old East Franklin Township man was arrested for violating a woman's protection from abuse order following a traffic stop on Route 422 west in East Franklin Township. The suspect, who police did not identify, was a passenger in the car.During the investigation, police learned that the driver, a 30-year-old East Franklin Township woman, has a PFA against the man. Police said charges are pending.6:50 p.m. Monday — A 42-year-old Kittanning man suffered an apparent drug overdose at a house on Butler Road in East Franklin Township. Police did not identify the man, who was taken to UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh. His condition was not available this morning.Police said their investigation continues.Noon Monday — A 30-year-old Fairmount man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 28 south at the Route 422 on-ramp in East Franklin Township. Charges are pending lab results.Sunday — An unknown thief stole two firearms from a 49-year-old man's home on Walkchalk Road in East Franklin Township. The guns were taken around noon. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.2:20 a.m. Saturday — A 41-year-old Kittanning man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of DUI at Millenium Road and Route 422 in Manor Township. Charges are pending lab results.7:25 p.m. March 3 — A small amount of narcotics and drug paraphernalia were seized from a vehicle following a traffic stop on Route 28 south in East Franklin Township. Charges are pending against the driver, a 38-year-old Knox man who police did not identify.6:04 a.m. March 3 — Destiny J. Salsgiver, 36, of Kittanning lost control of her pickup truck on snow-covered Route 128 near Quarry Road in North Buffalo Township, hitting an embankment. The crash blew out both front tires.10:30 p.m. March 2 — A thief stole money from a 26-year-old Templeton woman's wallet cell phone case on Butler Road in North Buffalo Township. Police said they have a suspect who was not identified. The investigation continues.7:10 p.m. March 2 — A 62-year-old Cowansville man was arrested for suspected drunken driving after a crash in Sugarcreek Township left him needing hospital treatment. The driver, who police did not identify, lost control of his pickup truck and struck a utility pole along Route 268.The man was taken to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township with apparent minor injuries.1:52 p.m. March 1 — A 36-year-old Ford City man was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Route 422 west at County Line Road in West Franklin Township. Police said they seized drug paraphernalia following the traffic stop. Charges are pending lab results.
