Area beef cattle producers can participate in a workshop titled Applied Beef Cattle Management Strategies.

The workshop will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Dave Cox farm, 360 Fassinger Road, Evans City.

Co-sponsored by the Penn State Extension, PA Beef Producers and Merck, the program will be presented by members of the Penn State Extension livestock team and cover strategies to increase the value of marketed beef calves.

Topics will include: precondition and grain transition, vaccinations, castration of bull calves and implanting calves.
