Ross

Valjean M. Ross, 70, of Cottonwood Drive, Butler, died Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Dec. 29, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Ellsworth C. McCandless and Edna M. Timblin McCandless.

Ms. Ross was a homemaker and a Protestant.

Ms. Ross is survived by her son, John, and his wife, Robin Tiedt of Butler; her brother, James McCandless of Butler; two grandchildren, Valjean Tiedt and Tyler Tiedt of Butler; and three sisters, Sally Criley of Fenelton, Joan Jacobson of Butler and Ella Mae Schoentag of Cabot. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Ms. Ross was preceded in death by a brother, Ellsworth McCandless Jr.

<B>ROSS</B> — Friends of Valjean M. Ross, who died Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Jenks of Faith Fellowship Alliance Church officiating.
