Audience members will have to help decide "who dunit?" at 8 p.m. Oct. 14 when members of the Butler County Community College Pioneer Players present an original, interactive show "A Murder Mystery" at the Penn Theater, Main Street.

Mollie O'Donnell is the student director, Carrie Kasenter is the student technical director, and Christina Kriley serves as student producer.

Tickets are for sale at the Butler County Symphony Orchestra office, 259 S. Main St., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays or by calling the Penn Theater at 724-287-7366 or BC3 at 724-287-8711, Ext. 8272. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for students.

The Butler County Symphony Orchestra will launch its 57th season with music that's out of this world with "Mercury" on Oct. 15.The concert features Adams' "Short Ride in a Fast Machine," Chabrier's "Espana"and the Slippery Rock Trio performing Beethoven's "Triple Concerto." The trio includes Nanette Kaplan Solomon on piano, Warren Davidson on violin, and Paula Tuttle on cello.All concerts are held at the Butler Intermediate High School on Fairground Hill Road.Season tickets and individual concert tickets are available. GROVE CITY - Grove City's Fall Fest will return for its eighth year from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Park.A number of favorite activities from years past are planned. Among them is pumpkin painting for children available for free at the Friendship Shelter.A big draw in years past has been the pet show, which begins this year at 12:30 p.m.Other returning favorites are a farmers market, community yard sales and more than 30 crafters. Face painting will be available from noon to 2 p.m. Hayrides through the park will be given from 1 to 5 p.m.New this year will be a llama-petting pen.More information and pet show pre-registration forms are at the Grove City Community Library.

The October meeting of the Butler County Civil War Roundtable will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Butler YWCA.The meeting will feature Hollywood actor Patrick Falci, who portrayed General A.P. Hill in the movie "Gettysburg." He will discuss "Behind the Scenes of the Movies 'Gettysburg' and 'Gods and Generals.' "Admission is free.

WORTHINGTON - The 29th annual Rock, Gem and Jewelry Show and Sale, sponsored by the Kit-Han-Ne Rock and Gem Club will fill the Worthington Fire Hall from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.The fire hall is seven miles west of Kittanning on Route 422.Demonstrations, door prizes and rock and gem dealers will be featured.Admission is by donation.

TITUSVILLE - Ghosts of Pithole City will be the subject of stories Saturday starting at the Pithole Visitor Center. Lantern-lit tours through the woods surrounding the center will begin at 6:45 p.m. and will depart every 15 minutes.Participants are to take flashlights.Admission is $3 for adults and $1.50 for students, or $8 for a family. GROVE CITY - Grammy Award-winning band Jars of Clay will appear on the second leg of their "Redemption Songs and Stories" tour at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 14 at Grove City College Arena, 100 Campus Drive.Their newest CD features with single "God Will Lift Up Your Head."Guests during the show will be Sara Groves and Donald Miller.Tickets are $25 or $20. PITTSBURGH - "Well Hung: Chandeliers Revealed" is the new exhibit at the Pittsburgh Glass Center, 5472 Penn Ave.The national collaborative exhibition opens for the first time from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.Expect to see a battle between art and craft, elegant Venetian traditions and colorful creations. The exhibition will run until Jan. 6.Ten artists from across the United States are featured, including: Gavin Benjamin, Ron Desmett, Katherine Gray, James Minson, James Mongrain, Kathleen Mulcahy, Jill Reynolds, Ginny Ruffner, Emilio Santini and Daniel Spitzer.For more information, call 412-365-2145.
