Intihar's bat still smoking in Seneca win

Ali Intihar continued her torrid hitting with a double and two RBI as the Seneca Valley softball team blanked Fox Chapel 2-0 Wednesday.

Megan Wise was impressive again in the circle, pitching five scoreless innings to pick up the win.

Jackie Mangola and Jamie Guffey each doubled for the Raiders (4-1 overall, 1-1 in the section).

In other action:

Brenna McPherson drove in Butler's lone run and singled twice in a 4-1 loss to North Hills.

Monica Glomb, coming off a 15-strikeout performance in a win against Highlands Tuesday, struck out nine in a three-hit, 4-0 shutout against Kittanning Wednesday.

Glomb also doubled and singled twice for the Planets (3-1, 2-0).

Knoch freshman Kirsten Brant had two hits and scored two runs, but Valley broke a tie with a pair of runs in the top of the seventh to post a 4-2 win.
