The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:

Butler City

June 1 — Chelsea K. McCune, 32, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault and a summary harassment charge after police said on May 30 she verbally harassed a neighbor, threw a chair and tried to strike him with a tree branch.

May 31 — Stanley T. Smith, 63, of Butler, was charged with two misdemeanors for possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia after police said they stopped him May 10 on South Chestnut Street, Butler City. Police said upon a search of his person and vehicle, a suspected rock of crack cocaine and a glass smoking pipe were found.

May 26 — Three adults were each charged Feb. 8 with misdemeanors for endangering children after police said an 11-month-old overdosed on ibuprofen and was exposed to crack cocaine.

According to police, parents Ryan P. Gerber, 28, of Butler, and Shana M. Hoy, 22, of Butler, left their children in the care of Corey T. Loney, 37, of Tarentum. Police said Loney fell asleep while watching the children and the 11-month-old ingested two 200 mgs of ibuprofen and needed medical attention. Police said the parents admitted to smoking crack in the presence of their children the night before.

May 25 — Philip L. Covel III, 49, of Butler, was charged with possession of drugs after police said they responded to a report of Covel sleeping in his vehicle at the intersection of Franklin and Brady streets, Butler City. Police said Covel had a suspected crack cocaine rock with him.

May 19 — Jamie L. McPherson, 39, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault and a summary harassment charge after police said McPherson pinned someone against a wall and repeatedly punched him in the face.

May 31 — Brian S. Kennedy, 50, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanors simple assault and resisting arrest May 27 in Butler City after police said Kennedy aggressively shouted at police, refused to follow the officer’s commands and came toward the officer in an aggressive manner.

May 26 — Katie N. Leight, 36, of Butler, was charged with four misdemeanors of driving under the influence after police said they stopped her Sept. 19, 2021, on Hansen Avenue, Butler City. Police said field sobriety tests showed she was impaired, and a later blood test showed Leight’s blood-alcohol content at 0.103% with traces of marijuana. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.

May 24 — Gary T. Czzowitz, 54, of Butler, was charged with two misdemeanor DUIs after police said they stopped him May 20 on Goldwood Avenue in Butler City. Police said a later breath test showed Czzowitz’s blood-alcohol content at 0.117%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.

May 24 — Janet L. Rikal, 52, of Butler, was charged with two misdemeanor DUIs after police said they stopped her May 19 on East New Castle Street in Butler City. Police said field sobriety tests showed she was impaired, and a later breath test showed Rikal’s blood-alcohol content level at 0.128%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.

May 18 — Elijah S. Pineiro-Zucker, 22, of Woodstock, N.Y., was charged with two misdemeanor DUIs and possessing marijuana after police said they stopped him March 23 at Hansen Avenue and Pillow Street. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and a later blood test showed Pineiro-Zucker’s blood-alcohol content at 0.5% with traces of marijuana. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.
