Drug Watch to create account for donations
Butler’s Neighborhood Drug Watch is working on creating a bank account to accept donations needed to match a grant from the Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau.
The bureau on Wednesday offered a $5,000 grant match challenge to help the startup’s drug watch program with its marketing efforts.
Kathy Kline, who is leading the effort to establish the drug watch program, said she is working on creating an account with a local bank to accept donations to match the bureau’s grant.
The drug watch program, which held its first meeting earlier this month, does not have a bank account and isn’t currently able to accept donations.
Kline said she hopes to find a bank to accept donations and handle invoices to pay for marketing materials and advertising.
The drug watch program encourages residents to call police to report suspected drug activity and other crimes.
People wishing to pledge should send an email to neighborhooddrugwatch@gmail.com.
