Rhoads nets her 102nd goal

Kelsey Drennen scored three goals and Jence Rhoads broke the 100-goal mark for her career Wednesday night as the Slippery Rock girls soccer team shut out Kennedy Catholic, 8-0.

Rhoads scored two goals and has 102 in her career. Beth Reefer held the Rockets' previous career goal-scoring record of 74.

Elissa McCune had two goals and Karly Rhoads had one for Slippery Rock (18-1). Brittney Miller had four assists and Catherine Fodor one. Kyra Foley was the winning goalkeeper.

VolleyballSeneca Valley won its first-round WPIALClass AAA match against Norwin, sweeping the Knights 25-15, 26-24, 25-23.Justine Carrow had 10 kills for the Raiders (10-5) while Lauren Balmert had 23 assists and Jen Wood had seven kills.Seneca Valley plays Pine-Richland Tuesday at a site and time to be determined.

Cranberry 3, A-C Valley 0 — Sadie Carr had 11 service points and Lorin Kaufman added eight service points and three blocks, but the Falcons fell toCranberry 25-10, 25-14, 25-12 Wednesday night.LaurenSnyder had two blocks for the Falcons, who won the junior varsity match 20-25, 25-23, 25-23.

Clarion-Limestone 3, Karns City 0 — The Gremlins (6-5) ended the regular season with a 25-10, 25-11, 25-12 defeat.KarnsCity did make the District 9 playoffs and will wait to see who, where and when in will play next.The junior varsity team earned a 25-18, 18-25, 25-16 win and finished the season undefeated at 11-0.
