Bream's late heroics help Seneca Valley eclipse Moon

Tyler Bream smacked a two-out, two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Seneca Valley baseball team a 3-2 victory over Moon Thursday.

Cory Mazzoni pitched three scoreless innings of relief to earn the win, striking out seven batters.

In other games:

• Dustin Uhlman doubled three times as Butler outscored Blackhawk, 12-10. Greg Hays pitched 2 2/3 innings with three strikeouts for the win.

• J.P. Samay struck out seven in five innings to lead Freeport to a 7-4 win over Leechburg.

• Bob Revesz fanned 10 batters in four innings, and Ross Trinch doubled and homered to lift Grove City to a 7-0 win over Neshannock.

• D.J. Cannon managed nine strikeouts in Mars' 15-0, four-inning drubbing of Riverview.

• Moniteau scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth to tie West Shamokin, then tacked on six more in the sixth inning to post a 10-4 triumph.

Butler defeated Knoch, 90-37, Wednesday.Gaining first-place finishes for the Golden Tornado were Matt Pribis in the 110 hurdles, Darius Hightower in the 100 and 200, Evan Gomez in the 1,600, Cody Hartman in the 400, Cody West in the 800 and triple jump, Josh Surkosky in the discus and Jason Glasgow in the pole vault.Butler's 1,600-meter relay team of Ryan Hartman, Pribis, Carlos Sanchez and Gomez won as well.
