Mangola grand slam helps SV softball stay perfect

Despite five RBI from Andy Onufrak, the Butler baseball team fell to section rival North Allegheny, 12-6, Saturday afternoon.

Onufrak had two doubles and a single. Dustin Uhlman added a run-scoring triple for the Golden Tornado (5-6, 1-1).

In other action:

• Six errors by Karns City doomed the Gremlins (2-5, 2-3) to a 16-6 five-inning loss toClarion-Limestone.

• Brandon Ray drove in two runs with a single, but Slippery Rock (2-3, 1-1) fell 5-3 on a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning by Meadville.

• Pitching depleted Mars won a slugfest over New Castle, 18-15, to improve to 5-5 overall and 2-2 in the section.

• Knoch's record dipped to 0-10 with a 6-1 loss to New Castle in the continuation of a suspended game and a 5-3 loss to Highlands.
