Verner G. 'Bud' Burr

Verner G. "Bud" Burr, 58, of Creekbottom Road, Harrisville, formerly of Prospect, died Saturday in the emergency room of the Grove City Medical Center.

Born Oct. 9, 1948, in Elwood City, he was the son of the late Verner F. Burr and Dorothy E. Wagner Burr.

He was a 1966 graduate of Seneca Valley High School.

He worked at Amerikohl Mining of Butler since 1994, where he was in reclamation and was an equipment operator, and he also was a self-employed farmer.

He was a Protestant.

He was an avid gardener and sportsman.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley R. Bates Burr, whom he married June 6, 1966. Also surviving are two daughters, Sherry S. Rowland of Harrisville and Karen S. Rider and her husband, Shawn, of Harrisville; six grandchildren, Kayla and Cody Rowland, and Christopher, Braden, Ashton and Cole Rider, all of Harrisville; a sister, Mrs. Paul (Maudress) Schaub of Prospect; and three nephews, Ronald, Randy, and Rick Schaub.

<B>BURR</B>— Friends of Verner G. "Bud" Burr, who died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Jamison Funeral Home</B>, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville.Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Harrisville United Methodist Church with the Rev. William E. Hastings officiating.Memorial donation may be made to the Memorial Fund of the Harrisville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 424, Harrisville PA 16038.
