Hilary Swank

NEW YORK — It’s a doggone good story with a Hollywood ending.

An Albany woman says she was reunited with her pet dog after actress Hilary Swank came across the lost canine.

Chelsea Blackwell’s dachshund, Blue, went missing Monday and was gone for about an hour, she told the Times Union. Blackwell couldn’t believe it when she learned Swank had recovered him.

Blackwell had searched around town before ending up near a Greyhound bus station, where she observed police cars and camera crews. A man told Blackwell that a celebrity found the dog — and she soon learned it was Swank.

“I was like, ‘No way,’” Blackwell told the Albany newspaper. “As soon as she got out of the car, I kissed Blue and said, ‘Thank you so much.’”

Blackwell took a photo with Swank, a two-time Oscar winner for “Boys Don’t Cry” and “Million Dollar Baby.”

Swank, 47, is reportedly in Albany to shoot an undisclosed movie.

Taylor Hawkins

NEW YORK — Foo Fighters will honor the rock band's late drummer Taylor Hawkins with a pair of tribute concerts in September — one in London and the other in Los Angeles.

The twin shows will take place Sept. 3 at London’s Wembley Stadium and Sept. 27 at The Kia Forum in Inglewood, Calif., featuring “his bandmates and his inspirations playing the songs that he fell in love with, and the ones he brought to life,” the band said in a statement. Lineups for each show will be announced at a later date.

Hawkins died March 25 during a South American tour with the rock band. He was 50.

Taylor’s wife, Alison, took to social media to thank the band and its fans for their support. “In celebration of his life, is now up to all of us who loved him most to honor Taylor’s legacy and the music he gave us.”

Hawkins was Alanis Morissette’s touring drummer when he joined Foo Fighters in 1997, first appearing with the band on the tour supporting its sophomore album “The Colour & The Shape.”

He made his recording debut with Foo Fighters on 1999′s “There Is Nothing Left To Lose.” Hawkins played on every subsequent band album, including “One by One” and “In Your Honor,” and on hit singles like “Best of You.”

The band canceled its tour after Hawkins' death. At the Grammy Awards on April 3, an extended tribute to Hawkins played before the show’s In Memoriam segment honoring artists and music industry figures who’ve died. Billie Eilish paid homage to Hawkins during her performance by sporting a black T-shirt with his image.

After Lil Nas X accused BET of never really rooting for him anyway, the network released a statement Tuesday defending its values.

The Grammy-winning rapper and singer has directed a string of criticisms — and a diss track — at the media company in recent weeks after getting shut out of the BET Award nominations for the second year in a row. But BET claims the snub wasn't intentional.

"We love Lil Nas X," the organization said Tuesday in a statement.

"He was nominated for a Best New Artist BET Award in 2020, and we proudly showcased his extraordinary talent and creativity on the show twice: He performed 'Old Town Road' with Billy Ray Cyrus at 'BET Awards' 2019 and his 'BET Awards' 2021 performance was a highlight of our show. No one cheered louder that night than BET."

Last year, BET invited Lil Nas X to perform his hit single "Montero (Call Me by Your Name)" at the BET Awards after he wasn't nominated and fans of the trailblazing musician accused the show of homophobia. Others, such as "Pose" star Angelica Ross, have also criticized the network in the past for allegedly excluding LGBTQ people.
