Brian Ellis, R-11th, will host four “Eggs and Issues” legislative breakfasts in his district.The dates and locations for these are:• Friday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Garrett’s Place, 110 S. Pike Road, Buffalo Township.• March 11 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at East Butler Fire Hall, 808 Grant St., East Butler.• April 2 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Highfield Community Center, 229 Highfield Road, Butler Township.• April 8 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Chicora Fire Hall, 202 W. Slippery Rock St., Chicora.Ellis noted that a hot breakfast will be served and there is no cost to attend. Jason Altmire, D-4th, has invited high school students his district to submit entries for the 29th Annual Congressional Art Competition. Each year, all 435 congressional districts host art competitions to celebrate young artists.Students’ artwork will be evaluated by a jury of artists. The first place winner will have his work displayed in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol for one year and will receive a scholarship to the Savannah College of Art and Design.Students in grades 9 to 12 interested in participating in the art competition, and art teachers with questions, should call Altmire’s office at 724-226-1304 on how to apply. The deadline is March 18.Applicants can find information on the congressman’s website at www.altmire.house.gov.
