Slippery Rock High School wrestlers Jeff Becker (145 pounds) and Trevor Gallo (171) each rolled to wins in their first-round matches at the PIAA Class AA wrestling tournament in Hershey Thursday night.
Becker beat Alex Evans of Washington 7-2 and Gallo won a 12-3 major decision against Andrew Nave of Everett.

Robert Zang of Cranberry Township repeated as Grand Champion in patterns and sparring at the 32nd U.S. Open Martial Arts Championships held Feb. 26 at the University of Charleston in West Virginia.Zang, a fifth-degree black belt, is master instructor at Young Brothers Tae Kwon-Do Institute in Cranberry Township.Michael Sybert, 15, a second-degree black belt from Middlesex Township and a student of Master Zang's in Cranberry Township, won three trophies in the junior division at the tournament: first in breaking, second in patterns and third in sparring.Other students at Young Brothers in Cranberry Township who won trophies were: Aaron Hall, Darren Norris, Dr. Richard Kim, Christopher Wolden, Andrew Dorsch, Adam Dorko, Carter Moriarity, George Shirk IV, Tyler Smith, Kevin Sciullo and Minh Nguyen.Students at Young Brothers in Butler who won trophies included: Ron Sankey, Lake Sankey, Amy Evans and Bob Santolla.
Butler senior Nate Hartung was selected to participate in The Roundball Classic April 9 at Geneva College's Metheny FieldhouseThe evens, which features the top WPIAL basketball players, begins at 7 p.m. with the girls all-star game, followed by the boys game at 9.
The Robin Cole For the Kids Kick-Off Celebrity Golf Classic will be held May 2 at Conley's Golf Resort.The event will raise awareness and financial support for programs of Christian Sports International.Cost is $200 per golfer and includes continental breakfast, lunch, 18 holes of golf, cart, dinner and awards.
