5:40 p.m. Sunday - Charles Johnson, 42, was charged with theft for allegedly taking $20 from the purse of a woman he lived with at 213 Freemont Ave.Johnson, who also had an outstanding warrant, was arraigned by District Justice Joseph O'Donnell and placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $1,000 bond.
10:10 a.m. Sunday - A Dodge Neon driven by Bonnie Thompson, no age available, of Grove City collided with a Dodge Ram driven by Thomas Robson, no age available, of West Mifflin at Route 108 and Harmony Road in Slippery Rock Township.Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Department as well as Slippery Rock and Superior ambulance services responded.Thompson will be charged with a stop sign violation.Between 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday - Someone entered Dagwood and Blondies Country Pizza. The building was vandalized, and $40 in rolled change and $13 in raffle ticket money was taken.The business is owned by Kim and Todd Umstead of Eau Claire.Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 724-284-8100.Between 3 and 11 p.m. Saturday - Someone took a cellular telephone valued at $300 from the vehicle of Melissa Wheeler, 35, of Cabot.5 p.m. Friday - Evan Young, 19, of Butler lost control of a Saab coupe on Henricks Road, behind the Clearview Mall in Center Township.The vehicle crashed into an embankment. It had to be towed.8:30 p.m. Thursday - Todd Cowoski, 34, of Chicora drifted off Center Drive in Oakland Township, damaging a cattle fence owned by William Reeves Sr.5:30 p.m. Thursday - A Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Dorothy Surrena, no age available, of Grove City collided with a Hyundai Sonata driven by Anthony Corrado, no age available, of Glenshaw along Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township.May 1 - Christopher Mitchell, no age available, of New Castle wrote a bad check for $2,000 to Robert Vandervort of Butler.Noon, April 2 - A 17-year-old girl is charged with stealing $21 from the pants of another 17-year-old girl while the clothing was in the Karns City High School girls locker room.1:45 p.m. April 22 - A 17-year-old boy is charged with taking a wallet from the pants of another boy while the clothing was in the Karns City High School boys locker room.
12:50 p.m. Friday - A blue tractor trailer drove away after a two vehicle crash at Mushroom Mine Road and Route 422 in West Franklin Township.The truck failed to yield to a Ford Escort driven by Dana Altman, 29, of Chicora.In an attempt to avoid the truck, Altman drove off the road and, at one point, struck the truck.Altman and her passenger, 7-year-old Brendan Altman, were taken by ambulance to Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.Later, Altman was flown by medical helicopter to Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, and Brendan Altman was flown by medical helicopter to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.The Altman's conditions were not available this morning.State police are still investigating the collision.2:40 p.m. Friday - Amanda Frailey, 18, of Shelocta was taken to Armstrong Memorial Hospital for injuries she suffered in a collision on Route 66 in Manor Township.Frailey's Subaru collided with a Ford truck driven by Jon Bartolovic, 18, of Kittanning.Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.11:47 p.m. Friday - Jennifer Hogenmiller, 23, of Cowansville used her keys to enter and burglarize the CoGo's store in Kittanning, where she was an employee.Hogenmiller, who was arraigned by District Justice Michael Gerheim and released, allegedly turned off the store's alarm, took $257 then reactivated the alarm on her way out the door. A store security camera recorded the theft.
10:45 p.m. Saturday - Jeffery Reagle, 31, of Indiana was taken by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio, after crashing his motorcycle on Route 79 in Jackson Township.Reagle, who apparently had been drinking and was not wearing a helmet, suffered head and body injuries. His condition was not available this morning.Reagle faces charges of driving drunk, driving without a license and related traffic offences.12:45 a.m. Friday - Jonathan Summers, 27, of 342 Slippery Rock Church Road in Harrisville was stopped along Route 62 in Coolspring Township for erratic driving and suspicion of driving under the influence.10:47 p.m. Wednesday - Gaston Podoin, 63, of Canada drifted his tractor-trailer off Route 79 in Springfield Township.Podoin was charged with driving under the influence and numerous traffic citations.He was placed in the Mercer County Jail after failing to post $25,000 bond.Between April 30 and May 2 - Someone took a Porta-John valued at $600 from Diamond Road in Pine Township. The item was owned by Janneco Management Systems of Grove City and Bills Service Company in Knox.2 a.m. April 28 - John Hoffman, no age available, of Slippery Rock was stopped on Route 58 in Findley Township for speeding, erratic driving and suspicion of driving under the influence.
