Friday — Tyler Smith reported a hit-and-run accident in which an unknown vehicle sideswiped his pickup truck while it was parked overnight outside 228 East Penn St.8:37 p.m. Thursday — William Wokutch, 45, of Evans City was charged with driving under the influence, careless driving and driving under suspension following a traffic stop on South Chestnut Street.1:49 p.m. Wednesday — Charles McDaniel II, 40, of Butler was charged with driving under the influence-high rate of alcohol, driving under the influence-incapable of safe driving and driving the wrong way on a one-way street following a traffic stop on North Washington Street.5:41 p.m. Tuesday — A vehicle driven by Grace Taylor, 19, of Butler hit a curb off Hansen Avenue, blowing the passenger side tires. No injuries were reported. Hansen told police she lost steering and brakes to the vehicle, which was previously damaged in a fire, leading to the accident.Butler Township4:21 p.m. July 15 — Michael Thompson, 30, of Butler was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop on South Eberhart Road.
1:50 a.m. Friday — Wallace Weibel III, 31, of Boyers was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Route 38 in Center Township.3:34 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Donald Slomer Jr., 18, of Butler struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Paula Nicklas, 37, that was stopped to turn off Route 68 in Franklin Township. No injuries were reported. The occupants in both vehicles were wearing seat belts.10:30 a.m. Thursday — A 300-gallon storage tank was found off Landgraf Road in Donegal Township. Anyone with information about the tank should call Trooper Bartoe at 724-284-8100.2:05 a.m. Thursday — Benjamin Young, 26, of Chicora was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop at the intersection of Thorn Run Road and Route 38 in Summit Township.Thursday — Someone spray painted unspecified messages on the back walls and driveway of the fire hall off West Slippery Rock Street in Chicora between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday. Anyone with information about the incident should call police at 724-284-8100.Wednesday — Someone damaged the side of Mike Wiles' Chevy truck with a sharp object between 10 p.m. July 15 and 7 a.m. July 18. Anyone with information about the incident should call police at 724-284-8100.June 8 — Someone shot a Penn Telecom fiber optic cable wire near 500 Upper Harmony Road in Connoquenessing Township, causing $5,800 in damage.
11:35 a.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by John Cardwell, 56, of Sharpsville struck a small post off Route 108 in Scott Township before going over an embankment. The driver was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. An apparent medical condition caused Cardwell to lose control of his vehicle.
