Farmers National Bank of Emlenton recently donated $17,000 to Butler County Community College’s Education Foundation to help with a financial literacy program.

Through the program, 700 students at 18 schools in the region will be able to participate in a stock market game through BC3’s “College Within the High School” program, according to a news release.

BC3 offers college-level courses in government, ethics, philosophy, psychology, sociology and statistics.

The donation was made through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit program, which offers tax credits to businesses that contribute to scholarships or educational improvement organizations.
