Silvis has new work in crime series
Randall Silvis' latest novel, “A Long Way Down,” the third book in his Ryan DeMarco Mystery series, has been published by Poisoned Pen Press.
The series features a former state police sergeant who lives and works in Western Pennsylvania, just like the book's author.
Silvis, of Mercer County, released the second in the series, “Walking the Bones,” last year, continuing the literary series about the troubled protagonist DeMarco, who was introduced in 2017's “Two Days Gone.”
The first book in the series, “Two Days Gone,” was a finalist for the Hammett Prize for literary excellence in crime fiction, and is now in its 10th edition. The second installment, “Walking the Bones,” received a positive review from Publishers Weekly.
The 464-page “A Long Way Down” is available in paperback, hardcover and digital formats.The fourth book in the Ryan DeMarco series, “No Woods So Dark as These,” is scheduled for release in June.Also out is Silvis' “Incident on Ten-Right Road,” his first collection of short fiction since he was awarded the 1984 Drue Heinz Literature Prize by Joyce Carol Oates for his initial collection, “The Luckiest Man in the World.” It was published by Riverdale Avenue Books.The title novella in “Incident on Ten-Right Road” is a prequel to the Ryan DeMarco Mystery series.The 325-pages of collected novellas is available in hard cover, paperback and digital formats.
