Succop Nature Park, 185 W. Airport Road, Penn Township, hosts Birds and More nature walks at 9 a.m. Thursdays. The newly renovated T.W. Phillips Barn features a WindStax turbine that supplies electricity to the building, a nature store, classroom space, a large upstairs area that can be used for programs or rentals, and numerous bathrooms. Jennings Environmental Education Center, 2951 Prospect Road, Brady Township, in honor of the Feb. 2 “superbOWL” Sunday, will host a day of activities dedicated to owls. A maple sugaring workshop is set for 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 8. The program is free, with equipment available to purchase. Registration is required by Feb. 5, and space is limited. Moraine State Park will be the site of a Ground Hog Stomp at 1 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Pleasant Valley Picnic Area on the South Shore. The hike will be over easy to moderate terrain. Winterfest is planned for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 8 at McDanel’s launch area. Call 724-368-8811.

PA Fish & Boat Commission plans a PA Basic Boating Course from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Unionville Fire Hall, 102 Mahood Road. The course is free. Donations to Unionville Volunteer Fire Company will be appreciated. A check or money order, payable to the PFBC, in the amount of $10 is necessary to cover the cost of the actual certification card.
