COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., receives the noisy offering of loose change during the Sunday worship service. The offering supports the Refreshing Springs Ministry in Ambridge/Aliquippa.

The covenant choir and its director, Beverly Antis, will be honored Sunday. A picnic-style lunch will be after the worship service in the assembly room

The monthly cleaning day begins at 9 a.m. Saturday.

FIRST BAPTIST

Teens from First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will participate in the spring youth retreat from 5:30 p.m. Friday to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp. The theme is “God Changes What We Cannot.”

First Baptist Christian School’s Elementary program is at 7 p.m. Friday.

GLADE RUN UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The cleanup day at Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, begins at 8 a.m. Saturday. Take shovels, rakes, work gloves, hedge trimmers, buckets, brooms and dust cloths. The rain date is May 6.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., has Communion at the Sunday service. There is a potluck lunch and musical entertainment by Tony Frochio and friends following worship.

Church volunteers serve the community dinner Monday at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St. Set up is at 4 p.m. Dinner is at 5 p.m.

Ladies’ night out begins at 5:30 p.m. May 4 at Rock Ann Haven, 141 Greenwood Drive.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The chancel choir of Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., sings at the Sunday service. The deacons will host a pancake and sausage brunch after worship.

To be a pew tender, sign up in the church office.

To perform special music during the summer, sign up in the choir room.

Valet parking begins in May. It will be available from 10 to 10:25 a.m. Sundays at the McCarren Way door. To use the service, call the church before 3 p.m. Friday.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, has a membership/ mission pancake breakfast at 9:45 a.m. Sunday. Matt Reichert from the Pine Valley Bible Camp is the guest speaker. There is no Sunday school.

The women’s Bible study meets at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the board room. The buildings and grounds committee meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The A-team meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday for weekly repairs and church maintenance.

MT. CHESTNUT PRESBYTERIAN

Dave Fox is the guest speaker for both Sunday worship services at Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church, 727 Old West 422.

The Mt. Chestnut Cemetery work day is at 5 p.m. Monday.

The food cupboard is at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Items for the May 6 rummage sale should be delivered May 4.

NORTH MAIN STREET CHURCH OF GOD

North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St., Ext., takes part in the ninth annual women’s retreat from Friday to Sunday at the Whitehall Campground in Emlenton. May 4 is the National Day of Prayer. The drop-in program at 3:12 is open for prayer from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 312 N. Main St.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

The youth group will lead Sunday’s worship service at Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars.

The church hosts a Beaver-Butler Presbytery youth dance from 5:30 to 8 p.m. May 7.

RIDER LUTHERAN CHURCH

Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury, has a steering committee meeting at 7 p.m. Monday followed by an 8 p.m. church council meeting.

The choir practices at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The Rev. Carl Baughman leads Sunday worship at Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St.

A Blest Be the Tie That Binds Spring Service and Supper is at 4 p.m. May 7. The event includes Communion and a hymn sing and helps homebound members attend church.

The indoor yard sale, including antiques, is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Dinner with friends is at 6 p.m. May 7 at Red Rock Falls restaurant, 664 Route 173, Slippery Rock. To make a reservation, contact Susan Moon.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, participates in the FCS retreat Saturday and Sunday at Laurelville Retreat Center in Mount Pleasant.

Milestone Ministries has a new drivers’ blessing at all services Sunday. Contact the office about new drivers in the family.

Tickets are available Sunday for the May 20 Gardeners’ Paradise and pancake breakfast. All proceeds benefit the youth mission trip.
