5-lot plan OK'd

Upscale homes slated in Adams

ADAMS TWP — More upscale homes are coming to Myoma Road.

Chris Kaclik received approval Monday from the township supervisors for Indian Run, a five-lot plan on Myoma Road between Carriage Hill Drive and Peters Road.

Jim Sperdute, representing Kaclik, said the 18-acre plan originally was rejected by the township planning commission because it included shared driveways. So engineers came up with the idea to subdivide the plan into five lots with separate driveways.

Sperdute said the 3- to 5-acre lots will share a culvert pipe across a nearby stream. Four lots will be 3 to 5 acres each, and a lot on the opposite side of the stream will be 1.7 acres.

Sperdute assured supervisors that Kaclik worked with the state Department of Transportation on the driveways. Two driveways will be 300 to 400 feet long.

A 25-foot pedestrian easement was dedicated for any future sidewalk in the plan.

Township engineer Ron Olsen said he originally was concerned that a culvert backup could flood property on neighboring Indian Meadows properties in a storm similar to the remnants of Hurricane Ivan in 2004.

But Olsen said the water would pond in a stormwater management easement in the neighboring plan.

Supervisors approved the plan unanimously. Kaclik said construction on the five $700,000-plus homes would likely begin in the spring.
