CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, observes Holy Communion Sunday at both services.

The St. Vincent DePaul food cupboard work team meets at 8 a.m. Monday.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., joins with the Saint Andrews congregation at 201 E. Jefferson St. for a joint worship service Sunday.

The annual ecclesiastical meeting of Covenant Church follows the Sunday worship service on July 9. The meeting includes board and committee reports and elections for elders and nominating committee representatives.

EAST BUTLER PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

East Butler Presbyterian Church, Ninth and Randolph streets, East Butler, hosts a bluegrass/gospel jam at 7 p.m. Sunday. Local musicians can participate. Take refreshments to share.

FIRST BAPTIST

The Shop @ 216, a ministry sponsored by First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., has clothing available for a nominal cost. It is open from 1 to 5 p.m. on Thursdays in July and August.

Sunday’s service schedule includes an 8:30 a.m. Sunday prayer service and a 9:15 a.m. breakfast.

Family camp, primary day camp and fourth to eighth grade basketball and soccer day camps are July 3 to 8 at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, 130 Elliott Lane, Worth Township. For more information, call 724-287-7241. The church has regular Wednesday prayer service at the camp.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

Members and friends of First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will visit Kennywood on Lutheran Day July 25. To participate, call the church office by Friday.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

Volunteers from Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., serve the community dinner Monday at First English Lutheran Church. They meet at 4 p.m. to set up and serve a 5 p.m. dinner.

Ladies’ night out is at 5:30 p.m. July 6 at the Rock Ann Haven, 141 Greenwood Drive. Ladies of all ages may participate.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Beth Ackelson and Pat Hovis provide the special music during the Sunday worship service.

The congregation honors members of the military during the Sunday service to celebrate Independence Day.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Sunday’s worship at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., includes the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. The Rev. James Steiner, interim pastor, leads the service.

The food request for July is ketchup, mustard or mayonnaise.

INTERSECTION COMMUNITY

Intersection Community Church, previously Christ’s Outreach Church, at 120 Walker Ave., has a new name and a new worship format at 10 a.m. Sundays.

The children’s department is collecting pencils, notebooks, folders and other school supplies to fill backpacks for children in need. The collection is from July 2 to Aug. 13. To donate, call the church office at 724-283-8407.

“What the Bible Doesn’t Say” meets at 9 a.m. Sundays in July.

MOUNT CHESTNUT PRESBYTERIAN

The ACTS Choir will perform its Fourth of July concert at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church, 727 Old West 422.

Church members are providing July desserts for the Connoquenessing Meals on Wheels program. Take donations to the church.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Participants of Covenant Presbyterian Church join worshippers at Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., for a 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service with Communion and an indoor Fourth of July picnic in the memorial room.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Connoquenessing, 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, will celebrate Holy Communion at the Sunday worship service.

The cause of the month for July is the ELCA Lutheran Disaster Response Fund.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, has its annual Junk to Joy sale from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Centennial Hall. Proceeds fund the children’s’ ministry/community day camp.

Both Sunday services include Holy Communion. The 10 a.m. service is on the patio.

The outreach and evangelism ministry team leads the 2 p.m. Sunday worship service at Elmcroft, 100 Bela Court, Saxonburg.

The prayer circle will not meet Tuesday.

The AM sewing ministry meets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 6.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN

St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., finishes vacation Bible school with a family picnic at 5:30 p.m. today at Alameda Park, 184 Alameda Park Road.

The Rev. Jim Neal is the guest pastor for the 6 p.m. Saturday service.

The Rev. Ralph Storm is the guest minister for Sunday’s services.

All weekend services include Holy Communion.

3T will not meet Monday.

SS. PETER AND PAUL UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX

SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox, 21 Evergreen St., Lyndora, has Synaxis of the Holy Twelve Apostles at 9:15 a.m. Friday followed by Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m.

St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco 3rd Hour is at 9:15 a.m. Sunday followed by Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m.

The UOL chapter meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the church library.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

The monthly men’s ministry breakfast of Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, is at 8 a.m. Saturday at Eat ’n’ Park, 114 Clearview Circle.

The church office is closed Tuesday.

The Christian education ministry meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
