C. Harvey Strain, 92, of Middlesex Township, Valencia, died this morning at his residence.

Born and raised on the family farm in Middlesex Township, April 9, 1917, he was the son of the late Roy and Flora Park Strain.

He was a retired food broker and gentleman farmer.

He was a lifelong member of the Glade Run United Presbyterian Church.

Harvey served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Surviving are a niece, Darien Packard and her husband, Dean, of Chevy Chase, Md., and their children, Easton, Joelle, Hathaway and Faith Packard; and a nephew, Chuck Hurst and his wife, Kathy, of Chesapeake Beach, Md., their daughter, Kim Maloit and her husband, Ken, of Dunkirk, Md., and her two children.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Hurst; and a brother, H. Stanley Strain.

<B>STRAIN</B> — Friends of C. Harvey Strain, who died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc.</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
