ALLISON PARK CHURCH

Allison Park Church has services at its Butler campus, American Legion Post 778, 150 Legion Memorial Lane, at 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Christmas Eve.

Butler Church of the Nazarene

The children of the church present their Christmas musical at 10:45 a.m. Sunday at Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68.

There also is a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6 p.m. Sunday.

CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

The choir of Christ Community Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road meets at 6:30 tonight.

Church participants meet at 12:30 p.m. Saturday to fill gift bags. Carpools leave at 1:30 p.m. to deliver bags and sing Christmas carols in downtown Butler.

Christmas Eve services are at 10:30 a.m., 5:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Santa arrives at 6:30 p.m. in Oz Hall.

The office is closed from Thursday to Monday.

CLINTON UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Clinton United Presbyterian Church, 197 Glade Mill Road, Saxonburg, presents a Christmas pageant, “Not-So-Silent Night” as its 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning worship. In the play, based on Luke 2, three young shepherds are arrested for disturbing the peace in Bethlehem.

COMMUNITY ALLIANCE

Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road, has Christmas Eve services at 9 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. For more information visit the church website at www.butlercac.org.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

The women of the Covenant Choir light the fourth Advent candle at 11 a.m. Sunday at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St. The service includes a Christmas joy offering.

The church presents a service of lessons and carols Christmas Eve. The service includes Communion and candle lighting. Festival music is at 7 p.m. and the worship service is at 7:30 p.m. The pastor’s family lights the Christ candle.

EAST BUTLER PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

East Butler Presbyterian Church, 9th and Randolph streets, East Butler, celebrates Christmas Eve with a candlelight Communion service at 6 p.m.

The congregation welcomes the North Butler Presbyterian Church congregation for a joint service of music and praise at 10:30 a.m. Christmas Eve.

FAITH FELLOWSHIP ALLIANCE

Barry and Debbie Wiles lead a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6 p.m. Sunday at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Fared Drive. For more information, call 724-287-2700.

FAITH UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The Christmas Eve candlelight program is at the close of morning worship Sunday at Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main Ext. Elder Ron McKissick leads the service and Haden Hackbarth lights the Advent candles. There is birthday cake and singing for children to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

FIRST BAPTIST

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., has Sunday school and a morning service Sunday. The Christmas Eve service is at 6 p.m.

There is no Deaf Café this month.

There is a Bible study and prayer service at 7 p.m. Wednesday but no youth group meetings.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

The worship service for the fourth Sunday of Advent is at 10 a.m. at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St.

Christmas Eve services include family service at 4:30 p.m., special music for Christmas at 10 p.m. and a candlelight service of Holy Communion at 10:30 p.m.

The church office is closed Monday and Tuesday.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank at Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., is open from 5 to 7 p.m. today. The clothing bank is closed Saturday.

Sunday morning worship marks the fourth Sunday in Advent. The worship service includes music by the children of the church.

There is also a Christmas Eve candlelight service with Communion at 7 p.m. Sunday.

The church office is closed between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Christmas Eve vespers begin at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The service includes music, Holy Communion and candle lighting for remembrance and celebration.

There is no morning worship service Sunday.

HARVEST COMMUNITY

Harvest Community Church in Petroleum Valley, 118 N. Fairview Main St., Petrolia, has a 10 a.m. Sunday worship service and a candlelight Christmas Eve service at 6:30 p.m.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The morning worship Sunday at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., includes lighting the fourth candle of Advent and music by the choir.

Christmas Eve services include a 4 p.m. family “Happy Birthday Jesus” service with the Christmas story and birthday cake. The traditional candle lighting service is at 8 p.m. Vocal and instrumental preludes begin at 7:30 p.m.

The church office closes at noon Friday and reopens Jan. 2.

HOMEACRE CHAPEL

Homeacre Chapel, 340 Whitestown Road, has Christmas Eve candlelight Communion with a musical program at 7 p.m. Sunday. Special music includes a bell choir, musical glasses by Clarissa Boden, the Thompsons, Kulins, Millers and others, as well as congregational Christmas music.

Sunday school and a morning worship also will be on Dec. 24 but there will be no lunch or afternoon service.

INTERSECTION CHURCH

Intersection Church, 120 Walker Ave., has regular worship celebrating the Lord’s Supper at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Guest speaker and Christian actor, Walter Marr presents the Christmas Story from the wise men’s perspective at 7 p.m. Sunday.

The office is closed for the week beginning Sunday.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, has a session meeting at 7 p.m. today.

Regular worship services are at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday. Christmas Eve services are at 7 p.m. Sunday with the chancel choir performing and at 11 p.m. with Communion.

MERIDIAN PRESBYTERIAN

Meridian Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave., has a casual contemporary Christmas service led by the praise team at 11 a.m. Sunday. Sunday school classes meet at their regular times.

The church has a traditional Scottish lessons and carols candlelight Christmas Eve worship service at 7:30 p.m.

The Tuesday Bible study and quilting do not meet Tuesday.

NORTH BUTLER PRESBYERIAN

North Butler Presbyterian Church, 137 North Butler Church Road, Chicora, celebrates Christmas Eve with a candlelight Communion service at 8 p.m.

On Christmas Eve morning the congregation worships at 10:30 a.m. at East Butler Presbyterian Church. It is a joint service of music and praise.

NORTH MAIN STREET CHURCH OF GOD

North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Ext., offers two Candlelight services at 4 and 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The regular service is at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

The church office is closed from Monday to Jan. 1. For emergencies, call the church office and follow the prompts to reach pastoral staff.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, has a 7:30 p.m. Christmas Eve service. The service includes carols, Holy Communion, an original Christmas story and a candle-lighting ceremony.

The West Virginia mission trip presentation is Dec. 31.

RIDER LUTHERAN CHURCH

Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury, has a live Nativity scene outside the church, weather permitting, at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, followed by a traditional candlelight service at 6 p.m.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The candlelight Christmas Eve service at Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., is at 7 p.m. Sunday. Special music begins at 6:30 p.m.

SPRINGDALE LUTHERAN

The Rev. Warren L. Smith is the guest minister for a Christmas Eve service with Holy Communion at 11 a.m. Sunday at Springdale Lutheran Church, 1061 Mahood Road, West Sunbury. Special music is by Sam Scott and Daryl Joswiak.

There is no Christmas Eve evening service.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church at 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ with a candlelight service and Holy Communion at 7 p.m. Christmas Eve.

The donation sign-up list for the Connoquenessing Meals on Wheels during the first two weeks of January is on the bulletin board.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN

St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., has a 6 p.m. Saturday service with Holy Communion and a 10 a.m. Sunday service.

Christmas Eve candlelight services with Holy Communion are at 4:30, 7:30 and 11 p.m. with a traditional German liturgy.

The bell choir and the sanctuary choir do not meet this week.

The church and office are closed Monday and Tuesday and open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday to Dec. 29.

ST PETER’S REFORMED

St. Peter’s Reformed Church, 320 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, has candlelight Communion and a senior choir cantata beginning at 9 p.m. Sunday.

SUMMIT PRESBYTERIAN

Summit Presbyterian Church, 181 Caldwell Drive, has a 9:30 a.m. Sunday worship service. There are no small group Bible studies.

The Christmas Eve candlelight service is at 7 p.m.

The church office is closed Monday and Tuesday. The women’s group and the men’s study do not meet Monday. There are no Tuesday women’s Bible study or Wednesday choir practices.

VALENCIA PRESBYTERIAN

Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., Valencia, celebrates the birth of the Savior with two services Christmas Eve. There is a 10 a.m. Christmas carol service and a 7:30 p.m. candlelight service.

The church office is open with limited hours during the week after Christmas.
