County grants right of way to Sheetz for its new store
The Butler County commissioners on Wednesday granted a right of way to Sheetz for its new store at the corner of Morton and Center avenues in Butler Township.
The company needed the extra space to accommodate the construction of the 6,500-square-foot convenience store and gas station on 3.5 acres leased from the county.
The $75,000 annual lease has a term of 15 years with a renewal clause.
The new store will replace the existing 3,774-square-foot building across the intersection from the development.
Car donation
The commissioners approved the donation of two cars formerly used by probation officers to the Blind Association of Butler and Armstrong.
The county takes vehicles out of service if they are 10 years old or have 100,000 miles.
BC3 appointment
The commissioners appointed Paul Harris, human resources manager for Traco in Cranberry Township, to the Butler County Community College Board.
Harris fills a vacancy left by the departure of retired Seneca Valley School District Superintendent Donald Tylinski, whose term ended in June.
