Butler Church of the Nazarene

Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, will have a quartet providing music for the Sunday worship service.

Christ Community UNITED METHODIST

The Super Sprouts Preschool at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will have a 9 a.m. graduation Friday.

There will be no youth group Sunday.

The church office will be closed Monday. In an emergency, call the church office and leave a message for Pastor Bruce.

The contemporary worship planning committee will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The Men’s Fellowship meets at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Eat’n Park, 214 New Castle Road.

Quilters meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

A Hearts 4 Haiti mission trip is planned for Aug. 1-9. For more information, contact the Rev. Jim Lewis at 724-822-6168.

The church council is asking members to answer and return the survey concerning Sunday morning changes by Sunday.

Volunteers are needed for the St. Vincent de Paul food cupboard the first Monday every month. Contact Mary Etta White at formewhite@zoominternet.net or at the church. May food cupboard items of ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise are still being accepted.

community life

Community Life Church meets at 1104 Pittsburgh Pike Road.

Online sign-ups are open for the June 14 water baptism at Pleasant Valley Beach at Moraine State Park. Baptisms will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. A picnic will precede the baptisms. Take a large side dish. For more information, visit CLCButler.org/get-baptized and CLCButler.org/events to sign up.

Mile 1 Kids’ Team meets at noon Sunday for a barbecue at the church. Team members and their families are invited to take a side dish and attend.

Covenant PRESBYTERIAN

Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., begins summer service times with a 10 a.m. Sunday worship service.

Music is provided by Lars Morrison.

Faith UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

At Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main St., Sunday school will end for the summer and will resume in the fall.

Elder Ron McKissick will lead worship.

The AA group will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

WW will meet at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday, at 10 a.m. May 30 and at 8:30 a.m. June 1.

First Baptist

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will have Ladies’ Outreach from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the church.

The church will have a family game night at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Baptist Youth Center. Take a dish to share, a 2-liter of bottle of soda, and a favorite game.

Sunday’s service schedule begins with 9:45 a.m. Sunday school classes and then an 11 a.m. Sunday worship service. There will also be a 6 p.m. Sunday worship service.

First English Lutheran

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will have 9:10 a.m. Sunday school followed by a 10 a.m. worship service which will include Holy Communion by intinction.

The church office will be closed Monday, and there will be no community dinner because of Memorial Day.

The Butler Area Lutheran Ministry Youth will have Bible study with a gathering at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday at Cummings and study at 4 p.m. From now through the summer, the study will be Tuesdays.

Grace @ Calvary Lutheran

Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., opens Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank open to the public, from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Holy Communion will be celebrated at the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service.

Graceway

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

The Tom Walker family provides the music at the 10 a.m. Sunday Memorial Day worship service honoring all U.S. military veterans.

Hill UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., has its last session of Presbyterianism 101 at 9 a.m. Sunday.

The chancel choir will sing at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service.

The church office will be closed Friday and Monday.

Intersection

Ashley Stansfield conducts the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service at Intersection Church, 120 Walker Ave.

Table 2:42 meets at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the church sanctuary.

mars UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The Session of Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., meets at 7 p.m. Thursday in the board room.

Sunday worship services are at 8:30 and 11 a.m.

Muffins will be served in Tarry N Talk after the services.

The A team meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday, and Material Girls meets at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the board room.

Old Union PRESBYTERIAN

Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, begins its summer schedule with a 10 a.m. Sunday worship service. There will be no Sunday school classes during the summer.

ORCHARD HILL BUTLER COUNTY

Orchard Hill Butler County, 107 Staley Ave., has a special Memorial Day service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday where those veterans will be honored.

PLAINS PRESBYTERIAN

Plains Presbyterian Church, 326 Plains Church Road, Cranberry Township, goes to summer hours beginning June 2 with a single 10 a.m. Sunday worship service and no Sunday school classes during the summer.

St. Luke’s Lutheran

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, celebrates Holy Communion at the 8:15 a.m. Sunday worship service.

Sunday fellowship will be in the Koinonia Café.

There will be no Community Quiet Time and prayer Monday because of Memorial Day.

The Prayer Circle meets at noon Tuesday in the Fellowship Hall.

St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran

St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., will have a 6 p.m. Saturday worship service and 8 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Sunday worship services.

Children’s church takes place at the 10:15 a.m. Sunday service.

Sunday school for all ages is at 9 a.m.

There is an evangelism meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Eve’s Bible study meets at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The choir meets at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Trinity Lutheran

Beginning Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, will have only one 10 a.m. Sunday worship service.

There will be confirmation rehearsal after the Sunday worship service.

There is a sign-up sheet in the narthex for the property work day June 1.
