Christ Community UNITED METHODIST

The prayer shawl group of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday.

Community Life Church meets at 1104 Pittsburgh Pike Road.

Covenant PRESBYTERIAN

Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will have fellowship, a film and refreshments at 4 p.m. Saturday in the assembly hall.

Holy Communion is celebrated at the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service with special music by Ione Methias on the piano.

Faith UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main Ext., will have Dave Fox leading Sunday’s worship service.

The deacons will meet after the Sunday service.

The AA group meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

WW meets at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday, at 10 a.m. June 13 and at 8:30 a.m. June 15.

FENELTON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

Fenelton United Methodist Church, 810 Clearfield Road, Fenelton, will host a contemporary evening service at 6 p.m. Sunday for the Buffalo Charge, including the McKee Chapel and Craigsville United Methodist churches. First Baptist

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., has 9:45 a.m. Sunday school classes, an 11 a.m. worship service followed by a noon luncheon, and a 1:15 p.m. worship service.

First Baptist will have a work week at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, 130 Elliott Lane, Worth Township, from June 10 through 14.

First English Lutheran

Children entering first grade through fifth and sixth grades need to sign up for the weeklong day camp June 24 through 28 at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St. Any children interested in attending must register and complete the required Lutherlyn medical form which can be obtained from the church office. That same week vacation Bible school will be offered for children from age 3 to prekindergarten from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

The Sunday worship service celebrating Pentecost is at 10 a.m.

Grace @ Calvary Lutheran

Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will have Ladies’ Night Out at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Rock Ann Haven, 141 Greenwood Drive. All ladies of all ages are invited to a night of fellowship.

The Treasure Hunter’s Sale and Bake sale will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in the social hall. Volunteers are needed to help with the sale and clean up on Saturday afternoon.

Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank is open to the public from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. No proof of income is required. Each family may fill one large bag.

Holy Communion will be celebrated at the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service, which will also recognize all 2019 graduates.

Graceway

GraceWay meets each Sunday morning for a 10 a.m. worship service at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

MaryAnn Mahan and Don Horstman provide the music at the Sunday worship service, which will include a special recognition of all graduates.

Hill UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., celebrates Pentecost at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service. The congregation is encouraged to wear red.

Volunteers prepare community lunches at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

A luncheon reception for Bea Welch will follow the service to honor her faithful service as communion bread baker. The lunch is hosted by the worship and nurture committees.

The Hill Quilters meet at 9 a.m. Friday.

The congregation is invited to a movie night hosted by Covenant Presbyterian at 4 p.m. Saturday.

mars UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The deacons of Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, have a monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday in the board room.

There will be a 10 a.m. Sunday worship service at Adams Township Park. The service will be in the Township Pavilion by the playground. The annual church picnic will be immediately after the service. Hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks will be provided. Congregation members should take a covered dish or dessert.

A summer session of GriefShare is at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the board room.

The stewardship committee meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the office.

ORCHARD HILL BUTLER COUNTY

Orchard Hill Butler County hosts a class, “Christianity vs. Culture: Hot topics Christians are hesitant to discuss,” from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Wednesday in the fellowship hall at 107 Staley Ave.

Saint Andrews UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., shares the Lord’s Supper during worship Pentecost Sunday. Remember to wear red in celebration of the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Members of the confirmation class will join the church Sunday. Everyone’s invited to a light reception and time of celebration immediately after worship.

The June Mission Offering goes to Refreshing Springs Ministry, a PCUSA mission which serves the economically, physically and socially challenged neighborhoods of Aliquippa and Ambridge.

St. Luke’s Lutheran

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, has the Generations Choir picnic at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Moser home. Take a dish to share. Rehearsal will follow.

Holy Communion will be celebrated at the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service, and there will be confirmation and honoring of graduates at both Sunday worship services.

The celebration brunch will be at 9:30 a.m. Sunday in Centennial Hall. Take a dish to share. Sunday School will gather at 9:45 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall for Funday Sunday. The Outreach Ministry leads the 2 p.m. Sunday worship service at the Orchards of Saxonburg, 223 Pittsburgh St., Saxonburg.

Trinity Lutheran

The Lutheran Sisters of Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, will meet at 11 a.m. Friday at Mac’s Route 8 Café, 16 Pittsburgh Road.

The stewardship ministry meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

On Wednesday, the executive committee meets at 5:15 p.m., the choir and music ministry meets at 5:15 p.m. in the pavilion, and the youth committee meets at 6 p.m.

Trinity PRESBYTERIAN

Trinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave., Butler Township, will have the stewardship ministry meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

On Wednesday, the executive committee meets at 5:15 p.m., the choir and music ministry picnic at 6 p.m., and the youth committee at 6 p.m.

Valencia presbyterian

Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., Valencia, will honor graduating high school seniors during the Sunday worship service. New members from the teen confirmation class will also be received during the worship service.
