BUTLER TWP — The new Holiday Inn Express & Suites location is open.

The 80-room hotel at 203 North Duffy Road had a soft opening Oct. 21, said Charles Kitts, general manager.

“We're excited to be in Butler and part of the community,” Kitts said.

Every room has a 42-inch flat-screen television, a refrigerator, a microwave and wet bar. Amenities also include a gym, an indoor swimming pool and a free hot breakfast.

Fifty of the rooms are considered suites.

A grand opening is scheduled in the evening of Nov. 20.

The other Holiday Inn Express location in Butler County is in Cranberry Township.

HELSINKI — Statoil says its large oil field in the North Sea is expected to yield some $200 billion over coming decades, making it one of Norway's most profitable industrial projects.The Norwegian oil and gas company says the Johan Sverdrup field, first discovered in 2010, is one of the biggest discoveries on the Norwegian continental shelf since the mid-1980s.Statoil said it will now begin the environmental impact assessment for the field, situated 90 miles off the coast of Norway.
