B'nai Abraham, 519 N. Main St., has 11 a.m. Sunday cemetery service at B'nai Abraham Cemetery.

The Kol Nidrei communal prayer service is at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday followed by a 6:40 p.m. evening service.

The Yom Kippur morning service is at 9 a.m., the Mincha afternoon prayer service is at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. closing service and shofar blowing at 7:30 p.m. A break-the-fast Oneg follows the service.

Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, will have Millie Martsolf provide special music Sunday morning.

The Prayer Shawl Group of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, meets at 1 p.m. Thursday.Holy Communion will be observed at both Sunday services. Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., celebrates World Communion Sunday during the 11 a.m. worship service with a variety of Communion breads to represent our world. A brass ensemble from Slippery Rock University will perform during the service.The Peace & Global Witness Offering will be received and dedicated this week.

East Butler Presbyterian Church, 9th and Randolph streets in East Butler, hosts a bluegrass/gospel jam from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Participants are invited to bring instruments and join in making music. Snacks are also welcome.

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., sets its Sunday schedule: 8:30 a.m. prayer service, 9:15 a.m. breakfast, 9:45 a.m. Sunday school classes and 11 a.m. worship service.Ladies' Bible Study begins 7 p.m. Thursday at the Dittmer's Home.The church will participate in a music festival at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. There will be fellowship, dinner, a pie baking contest and worship service.

There will be no 10:30 a.m. Thursday Bible study at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St.The 10 a.m. Sunday worship service will include Holy Communion at the altar rail. Jefferson St., will observe World Communion Sunday during its 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday.The Fall Indoor Yard Sale is 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 11 and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 12. Setup for the sale begins 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, and continues 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10. St. John's Lutheran Church, 420 Beaver St., Mars, will have a fellowship breakfast between worship services Sunday.The church will host a family game day from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 12The church plans an ecumenical community campfire worship at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 12 on the lawn of the church. St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, welcomes Pastor Brian Shirey as interim pastor this Sunday at a combined 9:45 a.m. worship service.The final 150th anniversary celebration luncheon will follow at 11 a.m. in Centennial Hall. All current and former members are invited to share in the meal and memories. Meat and cake will be provided.
