Juanita Martin

Juanita Martin of P.O. Box 161, North Washington, PA 16048-0161 would like to celebrate her 102nd birthday on June 4 with a card shower.

The former Juanita DeVault was born June 4, 1920, in McKeesport.

She married Gilbert McGarvey in December 1944 and lived in Texas where Gilbert served in the Air Force.

He died in 1954.

They had one son Gilbert “Gib” McGarvey of Brooklyn, N.Y.

She married Kenneth “Ken” Martin on Dec. 26,1956. He died in 2011.

Juanita taught first grade for 26 years before retiring from the Moniteau School District.

She enjoyed snow skiing, golf, bowling and bridge.

She was a member of the North Washington Firemen’s Ladies Auxiliary where she served as president.

She is a member of the North Washington Presbyterian Church.
