Jane Lea McKee
Jane Lea McKee, 82, of Butler died unexpectedly Thursday at her home.
She was born in Fenelton, March 10, 1929, a daughter of James Stuart Coyle and Claire Zimmel Coyle.
Jane attended Slippery Rock College in association with the Butler Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and became a registered nurse in 1951. During her career, she had worked at Butler Memorial Hospital and the Visiting Nurses Association and had done private duty nursing. She was a member of the Butler Nurses Alumni. She also had worked for the U.S. Postal Service, serving as the Fenelton postmaster from 1970 until 1989.
She spent the winter months in Naples, Fla., for more than 30 years.
A member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Coylesville, at Fenelton, Jane was a volunteer at the Butler Area Community Dinners with St. John's.
She was the widow of Charles V. McKee Sr., who died Oct. 17, 2005. They had married Nov. 22, 1952. She also was preceded in death by a stepgrandson, Eric Brown, and two sisters.
Surviving are four children and their spouses, Charles V. and Paula McKee Jr. of Butler, Deborah and Kenneth Brown of West Sunbury, Nancy McKee of Butler and Mary Armstrong of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren, Colin and Marisa McKee; a brother and two sisters, James (Nancy) Coyle of Fenelton, Mabel (John) McNallen of Chicora and Nancy Carr of Sewickley.
<B>MCKEE </B>— Friends of Jane Lea McKee, who died Thursday, June 9, 2011, will be received at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Coylesville, 668 Clearfield Road, Fenelton.
