8:12 p.m. Sunday — Three teenagers were cited for defiant trespassing after police found them inside a vacant house on First Street. Charged are Bradley Cramer, 18, of Butler; a 17-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl. Police did not identify the 17-year-olds. Police also cited the boy for possession of drug paraphernalia.
5:45 p.m. Saturday — A pickup truck driven by a 17-year-old Cabot boy struck a tree and rolled onto its side along Great Belt Road near Route 356 in Jefferson Township. The boy, who police did not identify, was cited for driving too fast for conditions.4:35 p.m. Saturday — Two girls are accused of shoplifting $678 in merchandise from four stores at the Clearview Mall in Center Township.The girls, a 17-year-old from Freeport and a 16-year-old from New Kensington, Westmoreland County, are charged with retail theft. The older girl is also charged with possession of marijuana.2:20 a.m. Saturday — Bryan Brinker, 23, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 8 and Kelly Road in Clay Township.Friday — Police are searching for a burgundy, 1996 Chevrolet Blazer, possibly stolen from a Connoquenessing Township man.Owner Edward Young told police he loaned his vehicle to an unidentified 20-year-old black man to take to a prom in Pittsburgh. Young, who only knows the suspect by the nickname "Fifteen," said the vehicle was not returned.Police believe the vehicle, which could be in the Pittsburgh area; has two rose stickers on the side rear window and a Chevy sticker on the rear window. Anyone with information is asked to call the barracks at 724-284-8100.8:39 p.m. Thursday — Someone shot an arrow that hit the home of John and Nancy Craig on Arrowhead Drive in Slippery Rock Township. Police said the arrow struck the house "in close proximity" to where the Craigs were seated on the front porch.2:30 p.m. Thursday — A 73-year-old Armstrong County woman was injured when a piece of lumber fell from a bridge under construction and struck the car she was riding in on Route 422 in Summit Township.Police said the 2-by-4 hit the right side of the windshield as the car passed under the Mitchell Hill bridge. Martha Frick of Worthington suffered a cut on her right arm from broken glass. The driver and a second passenger were not injured.2:52 a.m. Thursday — James Trinkley, 42, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI at Route 8 and Kelly Road in Clay Township. Police also cited Trinkley for failing to use a turn signal and not wearing a seat belt.June 1 — More than $4,000 in hand tools were stolen in a burglary May 31 or June 1 at a home under construction on Mahood Road in Clay Township.4:32 p.m. May 29 — Cars driven by John Walbert, 24, of Butler and Kelly Stahlman, 28, of East Butler collided at Old East Butler and David roads in Oakland Township.7:54 p.m. May 20 — Robert Kappas, 51, of Wexford was arrested for DUI on Route 19 in Cranberry Township.
Saturday — An off-duty trooper helped catch a suspected shoplifter at Prime Outlets in Springfield Township, Mercer County.The trooper, who police did not identify, spotted the suspect, Douglas Hernandez, no age given and no known address, taking items from the Banana Republic store and notified store employees, who in turn called police.Officers searched Hernandez's van and found it packed with stolen property from six stores at the outlet mall. Police estimated the value of the stolen property at $33,000.Hernandez, who also uses the alias Julio Rivera, was arraigned on theft-related charges and placed in the Mercer County Jail on $100,000 bond.State Police, New Castle1:50 a.m. Sunday — A man and woman from Allegheny County were assaulted while attending a wedding reception at Betsy's Barn on Cheeseman Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.Police said the unknown suspects, five men, were intoxicated and started arguing with Kaylyn Spolar, 26, of Cheswick and John Guarnero, 27, of Springdale. The suspects then attacked Guarnero, with two of them holding him to the ground and three others punching him.The suspects then assaulted Spolar when she tried to intervene and help Guarnero. Police said Spolar was punched, dragged on the ground and kicked in the side.6:43 p.m. Friday — Amini-van driven by Bradley Weisenstein, 20, of Ellwood City crashed into a ditch and rolled onto its side on CopperRoad in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.Police said the van rolled into the front end of a tractor-trailer driven by Ronald Diehl, 30, of Beaver Falls, Beaver County. Weisenstein was cited for driving too fast for conditions.Friday — William Barker of Ellwood City reported a Pennsylvania license plate and inspection sticker were taken off his vehicle on Davis Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The theft occurred between 6 a.m. and 4:19 p.m.6:10 p.m. May 20 — Jared Schaney, 29, of Ellwood City was arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana on Route 422 in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Police later charged Schaney with DUI, possession of marijuana, driving with a suspended license and other undisclosed traffic violations.
